Restarting Your Life Overseas

There are many people in the United States who detest taxation so much, that they go to elaborate lengths to safeguard their money in offshore tax havens and investments. Thousands every year actually give up US citizenship so that they can keep what they've earned and not have the Federal Government constantly looking into their finances.

Generally we're talking very very private people. I can understand that completely. But there is absolutely no way on earth that I would ever give up citizenship. I think some of these people are just nuts. For all of our problems that we Americans truly have - like not knowing what kind of dress to buy for the weekend, or What movie to see with your girl, or boy? How about deciding on buying a home or condo. We now have live in such luxury here in these United States, that

  • Forty-six percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio.
  • Seventy-six percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, 30 years ago, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.
  • Only 6 percent of poor households are overcrowded. More than two-thirds have more than two rooms per person.
  • The average poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.)
  • Nearly three-quarters of poor households own a car; 30 percent own two or more cars.
  • Ninety-seven percent of poor households have a color television; over half own two or more color televisions.
  • Seventy-eight percent have a VCR or DVD player; 62 percent have cable or satellite TV reception.
  • Seventy-three percent own microwave ovens, more than half have a stereo, and a third have an automatic dishwasher.

I just had to point all of this out because there are some that really have a warped view of America. Especially in Europe and on Campus.

  • Source Understanding Poverty in America

Now for those of you who think that our poor have a hard time compared with some of the average folks on earth - and definitely of 90+% of the population of the planet, think again. Now for those of you whop don't want to read that massively huge study, here's the Exceutive Summary. Do yourself a favor and read this to understand that we are living in the most advanced, most dominant, militarily and culturally, nation to ever exist on earth. Not even Rome at it's height had such dominance in it's day. In fact Rome had absolutely no dominion over most of earth - especially Asia where China was a leading civilization.

With that understood I do realize that for whatever reason, there are many who still wish to leave America. Most are probably good folk who are more internationalist. Check out the following website. It is the source of any info that you need to invest or hide or relocate resources and or yourself. I like it for the articles as well. You can get an excellent education by reading some of the features at Escape Artist. Enjoy!
