to wonder and realize the reasons behind failure of every
second home based business.

Too Much Hype ..Over Expectations?

There are two dreams no human can shake off his mind. They
haunt him like obsession day in and day out  at all hours
and in all situations. One is to fantasize about Sex and
another to fantasize about tons and tons of money.

We all want to Get Rich Quick and that too without any
hard work. The hard work we are capable of, is already
being utilized in our main employment and some where we are
convinced that it cant make us that filthy rich which we
keep dreaming about.

So what we look forward to  is some magic way of making
that tons and tons of money.

The marketers of home based business opportunities have
long ago realized this human weakness and have so much over
exploited this emotion that most people have  now grown
extremely skeptic of the word Home based business
opportunity.

The internet is full of sites promising people filthy
amounts of money in no time. The scientifically written
extremely persuasive sales letter create so much hype that
people ultimately falling for their opportunity do so with
extreme over expectations.

Even if the opportunity is genuine its impossible to earn
that much cash , in that short a time, without doing
anything. Result is disenchantment and frustration causing
people to quit even before they have given the opportunity
any serious try.

Stakes are Very Low

When you start a brick and mortar business you sink in
considerable amounts of money in building, furnishing,
stocks etc. This upfront investment is the driving force
which keeps people committed even if the business is slow
to pickup.

In Home based Business opportunity the stakes are very low
or almost non existent. So there is nothing to propel
people to make serious efforts to safe guard their
investment. 

Its like a open university where any one can appear for a
examination just by paying the small amount of examination
fee. There is no fear of failure as one would have if he is
a regular student.

Lack of Proper Guidance

More than any other factors this probably is the most
important factor.

It is true that you can not make serious money with
unserious effort, but majority of people entering home
based businesses do not have any knowledge how to go about
things.

The person who markets them the opportunity disappears
after he made his killing by roping them in and leaves them
in the dark to find their way. This lack of proper guidance
and not knowing how to proceed actually frustrates most of
the serious seekers of Home business opportunities.
